In Singapore, commuters rely on mobile application and printed information board at bus stops and interchanges for travelling information, such as, bus route, fare, estimated arrival time and bus load ( available seats ). The popular mobile applications used by commuters provide some information but no single mobile application provide ALL the information above. Based on our research and data provided by Land Transport Authority, we decided to propose an interactive board and application to cater for better user experience, where the key is to simplify the extraction and transmission of information. Our idea is to propose an optimised user experience when they are travelling by bus in Singapore. The proposed information board and mobile application will provide information such as the load of the bus, bus arrival time, notification systems and current location of the oncoming bus. As for the information board, we are utilising existing data feed to show the moving buses in real time through the use of glowing lights so the users can see where their buses is on the map. This category best reflect our project because we are making daily lives more efficient. Users can plan their journey better. Minimizing their chances of being late or waiting for their bus under the hot sun. Finally, making use of data feed and technology that are currently available, we believe that our idea is a more comprehensive option than what is currently available.
